To set the hot key in vt. Hit enter on set up then tab to the edit field that says hot key hit the key you want for a hot key note that don't hit anyother key because then it will it up. so hit the key you want then route jaws to pc then hit controll end it should say ok cancel and help button left click it. and thats how you set up a hot key if it doesn't work try a few times
ah cool, thanks zack. i think i have it working, but not sure
Well, don't you just love people who give instructions that simply won't work.
I'm not a jaws user any more, but if you press ctrl end, the ctrl key you press will then become your hot key, not the key you had previously entered in the field.
So, don't press any key on the main part of the keyboard after pressing the key you want as a hot key. You then route jaws to pc, and arrow down until you hear I believe ok, cancel. then press insert right arrow to actually focus on the ok button, which will be echoed to you when you have it focused. Then left click. at which point it should hopefully work.
For windoweyes,
Do as above, but once you have pressed the key you want as a hot key, simply press number pad 1 for bottom left with the mouse, then num pad 8 to go up by line until you hear ok, then left click.
Hopefully that should clear up any problems with the instructions above.
yeah, tht's the right way and whatever you do, always use shift tab if you want to tab back to somewhere, if you tab forward, you'll get stuck in the hot key box and wont, be able to gt out of it.
Lol yes, Kevin's got it.
If you don't first route PC to Jaws, you're going to end up very frustrated.
That's usually the story concerning jaws anyway.
Haha!
Ah hell. Have I ever said how much I love clear, articulate instructions? What, sit down poster one; I know you did your best. I do want to thank you for making me go and look up one of my old posts, though.
Kev and Chelsea have got it, and if you want instructions that work at least some of the time,
look here.
zack, i think you really need to rethink your instructions. thanks kev and chelsea
